Instagram’s new Live Map feature, which displays the current position of users who have chosen to disclose their whereabouts, has drawn criticism. Concerns over privacy and possible stalker hazards are being voiced by users. Additionally, by touching and holding on either side of the screen while viewing, Instagram users may now fast-forward reels at a rate of twice as fast.
Here’s a more thorough explanation:
1. Live Map Issues: Users who have enabled location sharing can see their precise location on the new Live Map feature.
Because of privacy problems and the possibility of abuse, including stalking, this has drawn criticism.
The amount of criticism has been so great that Instagram’s CEO has admitted that users are confused about the feature.
To stop the Live Map from tracking them, users can turn off location sharing in their settings.
2. Fast Forward Reels: Instagram users may now fast-forward content twice as quickly thanks to a feature that was added to Reels.
Users only need to tap and hold the left or right side of the screen while viewing a reel to use this.
3. Additional Current Information:
Instagram’s “Trial Reels” feature enables content producers to test their work with non-followers.
Repost: Users can now share other users’ posts straight from their profile using the new “Repost” feature.
Friends page: To make it simpler to view posts from close friends, Instagram is also exploring a separate “Friends” page.
DM Translation and Scheduling: Instagram is pushing business users to use tools like DM translation and scheduling.
Auto Scroll: Instagram is currently testing the ability to automatically scroll through posts.
Carousel Frame Like Counts: The platform is also exploring displaying like counts for individual frames in a post that has a carousel.
